    The Palo Alto County Historical Museum was established in 1969 to house the many treasures of the past, reflecting life in Palo Alto County and its residents. The Free Methodist Church was purchased for the museum and later an annex was added in memory of the first president of the Historical Society, John Kelly. The Palo Alto County Historical Society maintains the museum. It is open for tours by appointment only.
